Ouarzazate is known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and the “Hollywood of Africa.” Its proximity to the Sahara, its fortified cities, and its film studios make Ouarzazate a very attractive destination.
At 8:00 AM, your journey will begin with our driver heading southeast, starting your private tour by entering the High Atlas Mountains at an altitude of 2,260 meters (approximately 7,269 feet). This is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Morocco. On your way from Marrakech, you will stop at a women’s cooperative to learn about the argan fruit, its products, and their uses. After a four-hour drive from Marrakech, you will arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasr Ait Ben Haddou, a location where many films have been shot. There, you will stop to visit this site and have lunch. As the journey continues, you will travel further into the Ounilla Valley on a small road that leads to the Kasbah of Telouat. Along the way, you’ll see some small, beautiful Berber villages and families living in mud-brick houses nestled in the High Atlas Mountains. Then, the journey continues into the High Atlas Mountains, returning to Marrakech to drop you off at your hotel.
